The Endangered Species Act conserves plant and animal life in the environments which they are found. The Endangered Species Act is implemented at the federal level, the lead agencies being the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries Service. The animal in the picture to the left is an Amur leopard, considered one of the rarest in the world as there are only 30-35 left remaining in the wild.
Wind power in Scotland is the countries fastest growing technology. In the U.S. however, other forms of renewable energy are being developed such as wastewater technology and nanotechnology. As different forms of energy are being researched in order to fuel an ever growing and consuming planet, evolving environmental laws are put into effect. Examples include Atomic Energy Act which was created in 1946 (right after the end of World War II) and the Nuclear Waste Policy Act.
As cars become more energy efficient, the number of pollutants they emit will be reduced. This is important as cars not only pollute the atmosphere, but actually increase the number of carcinogens by the road.

This is a Tesla Roadster. Tesla is the only automaker selling and producing a zero emission sports car in series production. Tesla motors are based in California which is no coincidence as pollution in California is a severe environmental problem causing acid rain and solar inversion.
The effect of an oil spill almost five weeks ago in the Gulf of Mexico leaves marine life dead and normally healthy waters polluted. Testing is currently underway in the Gulf, and Lousiana State University Professor Ed Overtone says that the impact of the polluted waters potentially could last a century.
